It's a Burden I Must Bear

Someone in this world has to have the cutest grandkids in the world. I guess that I am that person. The kids surprised me and took all of the grandkids to get their picture done together. I was so happy to get these pictures. Trisha got there early so she had extra pictures done of Miss Effie. It's so cute that Andrwe's boys are all superheroes. Ther is Batman, Superman and Spiderman. R.J. wanted to be the guy that delivers all of the boxes to his house, thus he is the UPS man. Sad but you can't really see Maxyne's costuem. She is holding her new cousin so proudly. She is a 50's diva. Effie is a spider. She hates her costume and everytime Trisha puts it on her she cries. I think that mommie learned to try the costume on the child before buying it. You can bet she will next year. Thanks to my girls for pulling this off. Grammy loves it.

Maxyne's 9th Birthday Party

The Meeks really know how to party. It has definitely passed on the next generation. Maxyne had her 9th birthday party on Friday. Her birthday happened to fall on the same day as the opening of High School Musical 3. This is a big deal for 9 year old girls. Shannon had the house all decorated for High School Musical and the girls met at her house to have pizza and cake. Then they all loaded up into a limo and took a ride around Poway and then went to the movies in style. After the movies they all came back to the house and partied it up a little longer. They were some pretty excited, happy little girls. She had her cool aunties (Julia and Chelsea there) to keep the party going. Auntie Julia got a train going around the house and then in the limo they kept the party going on. The next morning Maxyne told me that she got everything she wanted for her birthday. She had so much fun. She was on cloud 9 all day.

Just a cute picture of R.J.

I just thought this was a really cute picture of R.J. riding his scooter at preschool.

R.J.'s first field trip

R.J. is attending preschool this year. He goes to the same school as Maxyne. He loves it. A week ago he had his first field trip. He got to ride on the shool bus and went to a pumpkin patch in Escondido. Shannon went as a room mother. R.J. had a great time but mommy had to carry him all through the maze. It was over 100 degrees and they had no water. What a trooper Shannon is.

Jace and Jesse Get a New Bedroom

With the arrival of Steele Jennings it was necessary for Andrew and Kim to move the boys out of the nursery and into their own big boy room. The Meeks family loves the beach (especially Hawaii-hopefully we will be back there in April) so the logical choice was to have a Hawaii beach theme. Kim decorated and Andrew built this fabulous bed. It is a two story, queen size bunk bed that is built to be a surf shack. Now we just need to teach the boys to surf. I love the room. Kudos to Andrew and Kim for their creativity and working together to make the boys this great room.

Family Birthday Weekend

With our family getting so big we are trying something new. Our goal is to have quarterly birthday parties and celebrate several birthdays at one time. What we did learn is that even though Maxyne was the only grandchild who had a birthday in this quarter, they all need to blow out a candle. This gives us a great excuse to have a family weekend. Even though we were all crowded in my torn up being remodeled house, we had a great time and it gave us a chance to get to know baby Steele a little better. Thanks everyone for coming. Next time I promise no one will have to sleep in the kitchen. LOL (sorry Julia) HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Trisha, Andrew, Maxyne, Kim, and Gabe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jace and Jesse

Here are some pictures of Jace and Jesse. They are growing so fast!!!!!

The Boys Learned How to Swim

This last summer Jace and Jesse learned how to swim. They are pretty good too. Auntie Chelsea was swimming with them one day and got these shots. They are really growing up.

Silly Jace

This last summer Chelsea and Kiki went on the houseboat with Andrew and Kim. There is a sliding glass door that goes into the living room of the houseboat. The door was closed and Jace decided to put on quite a silly show with the door. When Jace is around you're always guaranteed to see a good, funny show. Enjoy!

Crazy Busses in Panama

One of the first things that Amy told us about in Panama was how funny the busses are. She said that they buy old school busses and paint them in wild colors and pictures. Here is a picture of a bus as well as a video of a bus loaded with missionaries. I just thought it was cute. I love seeing her world.

A Message to the Family From Amy

I love this short message Amy has sent to the family She loves her family so much. It sounds like she has quite an agenda planned for our family.

In The Service of the Lord

I love this video. It looks like the missionaries are leaving the temple and singing. I think it is so touching to see how wonderful these missionaries are. It's all about attitude.

Amy Still Can't Sing

Amy has always loved singing but not really had the gift. I still love to hear her sing. I thought this short video was so cute you can hear her so well and her enthusiasm.

9 Months in the Panama Mission

Several months ago Amy sent us a picture of herself holding a sign that said "9 months in the Panama Mission". She was wearing a dress and had stuffed a pillow under the dress looking like she was 9 months pregnant. That's our Amy's sense of humor. We all laughed and thought it was so Amy to do that. On the CD that she just sent us were a series of pictures taken the same night. I thought they were fun and show more of her darling personality. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

New Pictures of Hermana Meeks

It is always so exciting for us to get new pictures of our darling Amy. She sent us a package and it included a CD with over 600 pictures of her mission. I am attaching a few of my favorites to share with everyone.
