A Day at Disneyland

Yesterday, September 29, Shannon took the kids to Disneyland the Happiest Place on Earth.  They had a great time. I just had to share these pictures - they are too cute!!!!!  I think Shannon finally found out how to wear R.J. out.

R.J. has his own ideas of how to do things

Halloween is Coming

Halloween is coming and the first of the grandkids to pick his costume was R.J.  With Jim's business the UPS man comes to their house a lot.  R.J. loves it when the UPS man comes and he also loves it when the trash truck comes around.  So, R.J. decided that he wants to be the "guy who brings the boxes".

Who knows, R.J. may have a career!!!!!

I have the cutest grandkids in the world!!!!!!

Heber and I had the newest addition to our family on September 11.  He is the new son of Andrew and Kim.  He came into the world at a whopping 10 lbs. 3 oz. 21 inches long.  His name is Steele Jennings Meeks.  I like to call him my man of steele.  All of the cousins got together to welcome Steele into the family.  I am posting some pictures of then having tons of fun together.

Our Darling Hermana Meeks

Our darling Amy has been serving her mission in the Panama, Panama City Mission since August of 2007.  She has had the most fabulous mission. She is so devoted and obedient. They keep putting her in what they call "dry areas".  These are areas where there has not been success for a very long time even years. She has had so much success in those areas. It is rare that a week goes by and she is not having a baptism.
One of the highlights of her mission has been the Open House and Dedication of the Panama City Temple.  She had such wonderful experiences working at the Open House. Some of her converts were able to go to the open house and she knows that they will be going to the temple.
President Monson dedicated the temple and her mission was able to have a meeting with President Monson. Amy was asked to say the prayer at the meeting. She was so touched that out of all of the missionaries in her mission she was chosen to do so. That says a lot about her.
We miss her dearly and the highlight of our week is receiving her emails on Mondays. She is always on my prayers.

Our Family Silver Medalist

As you all know Heber is in Kuwait.  One of the "fun" things they do there is to have physical competitions where they get t-shirts for competing.  He has done several runs. They start at 4 a.m. because it gets so hot there. One of the challenges he just completed was swimming the English Channel.  The challenge was to swim the same amount of miles in the English Channel (I believe it is 29 miles)in a certain amount of time. He skipped lunch everyday and met the challenge. He still is swimming several miles a day. The pool is outdoor and 98 degrees. (solar heated lol).  He was very happy about this accomplishment as he should be.  That's my man!!!!!
